The Newfoundland and Labrador Child Benefit program is a mother-baby nutrition supplement amount. It is a non-taxable benefit paid to qualifying families who have children under one year of age.
Note: The mother-baby nutrition supplement benefit is fully funded by the Newfoundland and Labrador government, and administered by the Canada Revenue Agency. If you are eligible for the credit, payments will be automatically combined and paid to you with your Canada Child Tax Benefit amount each month.
This tax credit will automatically be paid to you if you meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
- You are a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador
- You have children under the age of 1 year
- You file a tax return every year
- You are already receiving the Canada Child Tax Benefit amount
Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) says…
The mother baby nutrition supplement is an additional benefit paid to qualifying families who have children under one year of age. Benefits are combined with the CCTB into a single monthly payment.
Under the mother baby nutrition supplement, you may be entitled to a benefit of $60 per month for each child under one year of age depending on your adjusted family net income.
