If you or your spouse’s or common-law partner’s mailing address changed during the year, you must advise Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and/or Revenu Québec of the change before you file your income tax return. Otherwise, the CRA and/or Revenu Québec will use the mailing address they have on file for you or your partner.
Note: You cannot change your or your spouse’s or common-law partner’s mailing address using NETFILE when you file your or your partner’s tax return.
To change your mailing address with the CRA, go to My Account (if you’re registered) and click on Change my address. You can also change your mailing address by contacting the CRA at 1-800-959-8281 or you can mail or fax one of these to your tax centre:
- A completed form RC325: Address change request;
- A signed letter that includes your social insurance number, new address, and moving date.
If you are changing your spouse’s or common-law partner’s mailing address at the same time as yours, include his or her name, Social Insurance Number, and signature in the letter.
To change your mailing address with Revenu Québec, use the Change of Address service through My Account (if you’re registered) on Revenu Québec’s website. You can also change your mailing address by contacting Revenu Québec at 1-800 267-6299.
