Using the Carry Forward Feature with your H&R Block, TurboTax, and UFile Data

You can carry forward or import information from your last year’s return in H&R Block’s tax software. Our carry forward feature saves you time and effort. By importing information from your last year’s return to this year, you won’t have to enter data such as your personal information, spousal and dependant information, and unused tax credits and deductions such as tuition amounts, interest paid on a student loan, charitable donations, moving expenses, RRSP deductions, net and non-capital losses, and other provincial tax credits.

To import information from your last year’s return, you must have filed your 2014 return using H&R Block’s Online or Download Software, TurboTax™ Desktop Software for Windows, UFile Windows™, or UFile Pro™. Click on the link below for the software you used last year and follow the steps listed to import your data.

If you did not use any of the above products last year, we will not be able to import your data but completing your return in H&R Block’s tax software is still fast and easy. We provide step-by-step guidance, self-help links throughout the software, and an optional paid Pro Review service where you can speak with a tax expert to get your questions answered. Click Skip Import to start your tax return without importing data.

Note: If you are not able to import data from your 2014 return, you can find your carry forward information on your latest notice of assessment or reassessment.
