Unused RRSP/PRPP contributions available for 2015

Each year that you don’t contribute the maximum amount to your registered retirement savings plan (RRSP) or pooled registered pension plan (PRPP), the remaining amount carries forward so that it can be used in a future year.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) calculates your contribution room by subtracting any unused RRSP/PRPP amounts you reported in past years from your deduction limit. To determine what your unused contribution amount is for 2015, refer to line B of your 2014 Notice of Assessment, Notice of Reassessment, or form T1028 (if applicable).

Note: You may receive form T1028 from the CRA if there have been changes to your RRSP/PRPP deduction limit since your last assessment.
