You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2015 tax software if, when entering your information on the T4: Statement of remuneration paid page, the employer name you entered contained invalid characters:
You need to remove all special characters (&,!, etc.) in your entry and ensure you only include letters, numbers, hypens, apostrophes, periods, brackets, or underscores. Since this field is for informational purposes only, it doesn’t need to be an exact match. [error code: RQ167]
To correct the error, enter your employer’s name on the T4 page using only the following characters:
If your employer’s name contains special characters that are not listed above, do not enter these into the Employer’s name field on the T4 page. This field is for informational purposes only, so the entry does not need to be an exact match.
